England Universities recruit first wave of Sponsors

Sign up now to support the England Universities' trip to the World Cup in Australia this July.

England Universities' Student Rugby League World Cup campaign received a shot in the arm this week with the announcement of a first wave of sponsors.

The Universities team has to raise over £100,000 to fund its participation in the tournament, which takes place in Sydney, Australia, and is seeking to raise as much funding via sponsorship and donations to reduce the financial burden on the players themselves.

The first sponsor to confirm placement on the England shirt is the Sheffield-based GRI Group.

Already supporters of Rugby League, the GRI Group's associated businesses are engaged in the development, manufacture and distribution of chemical ingredients for Personal Care, Household Care, Pharmaceutical and many Industrial applications.

GRI Group will see their logo on the reverse of the England Universities shirt, positioned below the playing number. More information on the GRI Group can be found at

In addition to the GRI Group, a number of Player Sponsors have been signed up, all of whom will be entered into a draw to see their logo feature on the shoulders of the England shirt.

In addition, all player sponsors are receiving promotion in association with their chose player via team announcements and social media graphics.
