TASS expects to be represented in force at the 2017 Student Rugby League World Cup taking place this summer.
TASS (The Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme) is a Sport England-funded partnership between talented athletes, education institutions and national governing bodies of sport.
The Scheme helps athletes in education – aged 16-plus – to get the best from their sporting and academic careers, without having to choose between the two.
Eleven Rugby League players who have been supported by the Scheme have been selected in the England Universities' 33-man train-on squad ahead of the Student Rugby League World Cup in Sydney, Australia in July.
All student-athletes are also linked to professional clubs and will continue their player pathway with their respective teams post-study.
The Student World Cup team are currently fundraising for the trip and are aiming to raise £100k to cover all costs. Donate and find out more here: gofundme.com/englandunirl.
