Sheffield played hosts to Sheffield Hallam In Northern 1A in what was expected to be a fierce derby match, but the home side stole the show with a 56-22 win.
Both teams put in strong performances but it was the home side who ran out comfortable winners, scoring 10 tries; double the amount of their opposition.
Sheffield's Liam Grimmett rightly earned the Man of the Match award after racking up 20 points with a hat-trick and four conversions.
Sam Swire crossed twice and there were touchdowns for Mark Cordeaux, Sam Riley, Josh Allenby, Adam Giles and Danny Johnson. Richard Veazey landed four conversions.
Sheffield Hallam's Smith was their Man of the Match with one touchdown and a conversion. The other tryscorers were Brown, Clancy, Brewer and Powell.
Sheffield Hallam chairman Joe Burns said: "It was a solid performance against a top side with errors and the wind being our main problem."
Elsewhere, Liverpool John Moores were awarded the points as their opponents, York St John's, failed to raise a team.
