The Wolfpack built on their impressive win in round 1 with a 24-10 victory over Whitehaven in tough conditions.
Tries from Craig Hall and Liam Kay as well as a Hall penalty gave Toronto a 14-0 lead at the half.
Whitehaven scored two in the second half through Elliot Miller and Chris Taylor but it wasn’t enough to overturn the Wolfpack’s first half lead.
Benn Hardcastle’s conversion at the death earned Newcastle a 24-22 victory over London Skolars.

Skolars continued on a positive first half and led 22-18 with moments remaining, but a penalty and red card gave Newcastle a golden chance to take the two points with one last attack.

Hunslet took a 6-0 lead through Ryan Ince but Hemel were able to draw level. Hunslet then scored two further first half tries through Jack Walton and Cam Leeming to go in 18-6 ahead at the break.
Hemel added a second try in the last 40 but were unable to stop the onslaught from Hunslet who added seven more tries in the second half.
Workington picked up their first points of the League 1 season in a 20-6 win away at Oxford.
Curtis MacDonald gave Oxford a 6-0 advantage but Workington levelled the scores at 6-6 through Ed Chamberlain.
Jack Higginson and Carl Frober scored second half tries to get Workington the two points.

York City Knights held off South Wales Ironmen to win 26-24 and get off the mark in League 1.
The Knights led 20-10 at the break and extended the lead to 26-10 just two minutes into the second half when Harry Tyson Wilson crossed.
Tries from Andrew Gay, Chris Roets and Lewis Reece brought the Ironmen close but two missed conversions meant the South Wales club fell two points short in an inspired effort.
