Hunslet took a 6-0 lead through Ryan Ince but Hemel were able to draw level. Hunslet then scored two further first half tries through Jack Walton and Cam Leeming to go in 18-6 ahead at the break.
Hemel added a second try in the last 40 but were unable to stop the onslaught from Hunslet who added seven more tries in the second half.
Workington picked up their first points of the League 1 season in a 20-6 win away at Oxford.
Curtis MacDonald gave Oxford a 6-0 advantage but Workington levelled the scores at 6-6 through Ed Chamberlain.

The Knights led 20-10 at the break and extended the lead to 26-10 just two minutes into the second half when Harry Tyson Wilson crossed.
Tries from Andrew Gay, Chris Roets and Lewis Reece brought the Ironmen close but two missed conversions meant the South Wales club fell two points short in an inspired effort.
