England Community Lions name 19-man squad for Serbia clash

The England Community Lions have announced the 19-man squad, prior to their opening game of the U19s European Championships, which will see them take on host nation, Serbia.  

Their opening game will take place on Sunday 5th August 2018 against Serbia (KO 2:00pm CEST/ 1:00pm BST).  

The 21-man squad travelled to Serbia early on Friday 2nd August 2018, before Head Coach, Allan Coleman, confirmed his 19-man squad.  

On selecting the squad, Allan stated: “Every player within our squad is of a high standard in terms of ability and quality. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision, and one we have had to take with a focus on the task at hand, that being Sunday’s game against Serbia.  

"It will be the toughest competition these young players have played in. The players are certainly looking forward to it, it's a chance for these lads to show everyone the ability and quality they have.” 

England Community Lions Captain, Curtis Teace, spoke on the team’s expectations for the tournament and how preparations have gone so far. He said: “Preparations as a team so far have gone really well. We have bonded more as a team than previously, with a focus on the task at hand – taking each game as and when they come.”
