England Watch: Betfred Super League round 17

How did the domestic based England hopefuls get on during round 17 of Betfred Super League?

Jermaine McGillvary was flying in Huddersfield Giants’ 44-4 victory over Warrington Wolves on Sunday.

The winger scored two tries, made one assist and a total of 172 metres.

Mike McMeeken continued his impressive form for Castleford Tigers this season with a try in the win over St Helens.

McMeeken broke the Saints line with a dummy to pull Castleford two points behind and set up a tense ending to the game. Paul McShane made 39 tackles in the win.

On the losing side, Mark Percival scored St Helens’ first try of the game and James Roby made a try assist. Forward Alex Walmsley racked-up 131 metres for the Saints.

Kallum Watkins made 128 metres and one assist for Leeds Rhinos in their Friday night victory over Leigh Centurions. Ryan Hall also gained plenty of metres, with 124 from the wing.

Liam Farrell made his 200th Wigan appearance on Saturday in their defeat to Hull FC and marked it with an inventive offload to assist Lewis Tierney. Farrell also made 152 metres as Wigan came up short at the KCOM Stadium.

George Williams added two more assists in the loss to make it 22 in Super League this season, more than any other player. Joe Burgess made 155 metres and added a try of his own.
