Halifax RLFC have signed experienced winger Jodie Broughton for the 2020 Betfred Championship season.
Broughton has spent the last four seasons with French side Catalans Dragons after two years with Huddersfield Giants. The 31-year old had previously spent four seasons with Salford Red Devils after beginning his career at Hull FC.
Broughton represented England Knights on three occasions, scoring a total of four tries across his three appearances against France and Ireland.
Halifax Head Coach, Simon Grix, said: “He definitely brings Super League experience. He’s played a lot of games and been very consistent in his time. He’s a big unit that brings pace at the same time and that’ll be a valuable asset to us.
“I’m looking forward to him joining and getting him down. He’s hungry to get back out there after having an unlucky injury but Jodie is keen to make up for that lost time and make an impact for us.”
Broughton said: “I was really impressed with the ambition of the club; they’re trying to build something special and after watching things like the Challenge Cup semi-final I knew I wanted to be a part of that.”
Halifax also confirmed that quartet Shane Grady, Ben Kaye, Ben Johnston and Will Sharp have left the club following the final game of the season against York City Knights.
