Ahead of the 2018 season, the Rugby Football League Laws Committee has seen the introduction of new members from different levels of the game.
The new-look Committee has been relaunched after Rugby Football League Rugby Director Kevin Sinfield conducted a full review on its effectiveness and Terms of Reference.
Currently made up of 10 members, the Laws Committee now comprises of: Rugby Football League Interim Chief Executive Officer Ralph Rimmer, Rugby Football League Compliance Manager Dean Hardman, Hull Kingston Rovers Head Coach Tim Sheens, Castleford Tigers CEO Steve Gill, Sky Sports Rugby League Presenter Brian Carney, England Youth Head Coach Danny Wilson, Hull FC Football Manager Gareth Ellis, England Pathways Coach Paul Sculthorpe, Rugby Football League Head of Match Officials Steve Ganson and Dr Amit Pannu.
With a focus on safety, fairness and entertainment, the purpose of the Committee is to ensure the Laws of the Game (and interpretations) best serve Rugby League in this country. Throughout the year and at each meeting, members of the Laws Committee will consider, propose and review new interpretations for implementation or review.
Rugby Football League Interim Chief Executive Officer, Ralph Rimmer, said: “Our sport is one that never stops and always strives to improve on and off the field.
“The new members of the Law Committee bring a wealth of knowledge and experience and have the sport’s best interest at heart along with knowing what’s achievable.
“I look forward to working with each member as we continue to make Rugby League one of the most entertaining sports to watch in this country.”
