After drawing with Toronto last weekend, Barrow Raiders’ impressive start to life back in the Betfred Championship continued today as they turned around a 12-20 deficit to beat Leigh Centurions 24-20.
A double from Ilias Bergal, plus efforts from Peter Mata’utia and Larne Patrick had Leigh eight points ahead at the break, with Shane Toal scoring the first two of his tries.
Ryan Fieldhouse drew the Cumbrians closer with his try mid-way the second half before Toal completed a sensational hat-trick inside the final ten minutes to seal a sensational win for the Raiders.

Batley Bulldogs cruised to a 48-28 win over Swinton Lions, in a game played at Salford’s AJ Bell Stadium due to a waterlogged pitch at Heywood Road.
