WIGAN ST PATRICKS ended LEIGH MINERS RANGERS winning run in the Conference Challenge Trophy with a 46-10 win.
The emphatic success ended Miners two-year winning run in the competition and booked St Pats a semi-final contest with West Hull.
Hooker Brad Smith was instrumental in the win with a 20-point haul – two tries and six goals – as the visitors built a 16-6 half-time lead and never looked back.
Phil Glover, Earl Hurst, Ryan Smith, Nicky Murphy and Liam Gannon also crossed for tries, whilst three goals from loose-forward Andrew Cunningham completed a good afternoon’s work.
The home side were limited to tries either side of the break by Shaun Dowie and Sean McDonald, the first of which was converted by Johnathan Youds.
FEATHERSTONE LIONS roared back to beat Premier Division outfit EGREMONT RANGERS 26-19.
The Division Three side will meet East Leeds in the semi-finals after tries from Davi Garahan, Reece Dyas, Jack Candlin and Liam Jackson – plus five Richard Frankland goals – proved enough to return from Cumbria with the win.
Stand-off Matthew Bewsher chipped in with a try and three goals for Egremont, with the hosts other points coming from four-pointers to James Newton and Blake Mahovic.
Nathan Conroy led EAST LEEDS to a 29-22 triumph at NORMANTON KNIGHTS.
The stand-off crossed for a try and booted two goals and a field-goal to help the top-flight side see off a spirited Division One outfit.
The Knights – who led 16-12 at the break – had try scorers in Michael Firth (2), Adie Mulcahy and Paul Seal, with half-back Mulcahy also adding three goals.
Centre Adam Hartley crossed for a try in each half as the visitors eventually battled their way past the plucky hosts, whilst Kyle Quinlan, Ryan Gaunt and Jake Normington all went over.
WEST HULL produced a strong second-half display to see-off THATTO HEATH CRUSADERS 26-4.
A Jack Lazenby try was the only points of the first half, but Wests built on their 4-0 half-time advantage to run out comfortable winners.
Matthew Plummer, Joshua Hart, Dylan Price and Paul Shaw all crossed in the second period with three Ian Kerman goals making the game safe.
Thatto’s response was limited to a 55th minute efforts from centre Matthew Holding.
